Relationships.plus

Your questions, answered

What is Relationships.plus?

Relationships.plus is an inclusive guide and directory that connects you with relationship pros — therapists, coaches, mediators and more — who focus on exactly what you're working on. It covers couples, families, business partners, friendships, polyamory and ENM, LGBTQ+ relationships and your relationship with yourself.

Do both of us have to join for this to help?

No — one person can start. Many people begin on their own, working on their own patterns, voice and boundaries, and a partner may join later or not at all.

What's the difference between a therapist, a coach and a lawyer?

Only licensed clinicians (such as an LMFT, psychologist, licensed counselor or clinical social worker) provide therapy and treat mental-health concerns. Coaches and educators help with skills, goals and growth but do not diagnose or treat, divorce lawyers give legal advice, and mediators help both people reach agreements; Relationships.plus itself provides none of these services.

Is this site affirming of every kind of relationship?

Yes. Monogamous, polyamorous and ethically non-monogamous relationships, LGBTQ+, queer, trans and nonbinary people, interracial, neurodiverse and blended families are all welcome, and you can look for pros who specifically affirm your relationship.

What if I don't feel safe with my partner?

Abuse and coercive control are not communication problems, and couples therapy is generally not recommended when one partner is unsafe. Please reach out to the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 (or text START to 88788), call or text 988 if you're in crisis, and call 911 in an emergency; a licensed individual therapist can also help you plan safely.

Can a relationship survive an affair?

Many couples do rebuild after betrayal, but there is no guarantee and every situation is different. A licensed couples therapist trained in affair recovery can help you both decide whether and how to repair — or how to part with care.

How do I know if it's time to leave?

No website or professional can decide that for you, but a discernment counselor or therapist can help you get clear on what you want, what's possible and what's safe. If you're afraid of your partner, contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline before making plans to leave.

I'm a therapist or coach — how do I receive referrals?

Join at relationships.plus/join and choose Listed (free profile, 1 niche, no ZIP referrals) or a specialty plan per ZIP code — 1 specialty for $99/month, 3 for $199/month, 5 for $299/month or 10 for $499/month — then enter your ZIP code and pick your specialties. Each specialty is exclusive in that ZIP: you are the only relationship pro who receives its referrals there. Extra ZIP codes are 20% off the 2nd, 30% off the 3rd and 50% off each one after, and every plan includes your own CRM back office. Niches involving mental health, trauma, betrayal or safety are reserved for licensed clinicians; coaches can list in every other niche.

Is Relationships.plus therapy or an emergency service?

No. Relationships.plus is educational and a directory — it is not therapy, legal advice or a crisis service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, and call 911 in an emergency.
